...the President of the United States is just that. He can govern without a majority of the people but he cannot govern without a majority of the states. Originally it was designed to keep the rural communities which were a majority of the people from governing the cities. Now the situation is reversed.

...on the elimination of the filibuster, If that happens there will be no difference between the house and the Senate so we don't need both of them. The house is supposed to represent the people and the Senate is supposed to represent the states. This was why senators were appointed by the governors of the states at one time. The end result of the change of senatorial contests to popular vote is UNFUNDED MANDATES.

Oligarchy is another greek word describing “rule by the few.”

That is what the Trumpublican clan is trying for. This is not new for this crowd, it is just accelerated. They know they can’t outvote the rest of Americans so they will try to suppress the vote anywhichway. Trump was the oligarch they were waiting for. He has all the traits including looking at the army to send it into the streets.

So, that’s what they are: Oligarch wannabes. And that is the reason we have to get RID OF THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE THAT MAKES SUCH A SITUATION FEASIBLE.
