Definitely have been watching for this development, as it pertains to a Grandson, born with several heart defects, UCSF surgeons operated on him at his birth, it was televised at the time, but they did a temporary fix waited to see if the septum would develop, let them close it, but it didn't, so they did a fix, leaving him with only two cabers, a faster heartbeat, and he's now 6' 3", and 25 years old... We expected him to need a transplant near 20, but his cardiologist is happy with how he's doing, but we all think one day that may change... He tried keeping up with his older brother, but in the end, him slowing down was automatic, he'd turn blue and have to sit down a bit..
Anyway, at the time the doctors hoped the genetic matching pigs hearts would be ready in 20 years, and they were pretty close... Scientific research is awesome... We tried to nudge one of the Granddaughters to look into the field, but she wanted to be a vet, until she didn't..
Never know where life sends you!
