Re: “I have a few thoughts, disagreements, additions:”One more. REPEAL THE 17th AMENDMENT. It greatly reduces the power of state legislatures... and makes the presence of both a House and Senate largely redundant.


The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each state, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each state shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the state legislatures.

When vacancies happen in the representation of any state in the Senate, the executive authority of such state shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies: Provided, that the legislature of any state may empower the executive thereof to make temporary appointments until the people fill the vacancies by election as the legislature may direct.

This amendment shall not be so construed as to affect the election or term of any Senator chosen before it becomes valid as part of the Constitution.

2) “We will build solar farms, wind farms”

- I disagree. We should build clean energy farms that represent a long-term cost savings to the country. Solar and wind do not, in most situations, meet the requirement. Nuclear does.

4) “the Court will remain at nine justices forever”

- While I agree with the sentiment, I suspect the day may come when the number of issues and cases that need to be decided by the Supreme Court exceeds the practical capacity of just 9 justices. But I guess if that day comes, the Amendment being proposed could be revised with a new Amendment that somehow solves the problem.

7) “When the wall is complete and the border situation stabilized, we will pass legislation to tie legal immigration and temporary work visas to the unemployment rates in America, the number of jobs available, the type of jobs, etc. ”

- Why delay the legislation? Pass it at the earliest possible time.

9) “We will do whatever is possible to help small companies recover from the devastating hits they have taken over the last two years. ”

- Whatever is possible? Noooooo… Government did damage to small companies that it is in no position to reverse. A better approach would be to pass legislation and/or amendments such that what happened can never happen again.

Additions I’d like:

11) Term limits shall be established for members of Congress, with a maximum of 2 Senate terms and 4 Representative terms.

12) Illegal aliens in the U.S. shall be pursued, prosecuted, penalized and deported, in that order. Any application to return through legal mechanisms shall be evaluated with an understanding that the applicant is a criminal.

13) Employers shall check a federal database to verify the legal residency status of their domestic employees. Employers who failed to do the check or who employed an illegal alien despite knowing the employee to be here illegally shall be pursued, prosecuted and penalized.

14) Election votes shall be recorded ON WATERMARKED BALLOTS WITH ENCRYPTED SERIAL NUMBERS by citizens who have shown photographic I.D. at the time of voting. The ballots will be secured and preserved for at least two years.

14b) Every eligible citizen has one vote. Each has an additional vote for every $10,000 in income taxes paid.

15) OCONUS military actions, whether a war, a police action, or a rescue, must be approved by Congress within ten days of occurrence. Actions which fail to gain Congressional approval in that time must be immediately halted.

15b) Members of Congress wishing to vote to extend a military action beyond ten days shall have one or more family members (spouse, children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren) deployed to the combat zone or shall abstain from the vote.

16) Criminals who intentionally committed OR ATTEMPTED more damage than they are statistically or demonstrably likely to repay in the course of their lives shall be provided a choice of committing supervised suicide within the penal system or being deposited on an island per their biological sex from which there will never be a return or outside communication.

17) U.S. currency shall be backed by physical material with value and be redeemable upon demand in the amount assigned to the currency.
