My wife and I heard something go *crack* yesterday and correctly deduced that a tree or branch had snapped. This morning, it was easy to see what had happened. It doesn't look like much except . . . scroll down . . .



































It gets a whole lot bigger as you approach.

Using my glove as a ruler, I figure the "trunk" of the main branch is about 20 inches in diameter. I'd guess the branch is about 40 feet long. You can see where it fell from, up high in this second photo. The third gives the best feel for how big it is. It'll take some work to clear it in the Spring. I'm glad to have a tractor to pull it with.
