...do you understand that the house represents people by population and that the senate represents the states (two per state regardless of population). At one time this nation was largely agricultural with a large rural population. It kept the rural people from telling the city dwellers how to run the area they lived in. Now we have more people living in cities and the senate is supposed to keep them from telling rural folks how to run the areas they live in. If the house and the senate both become about population then we don't need one of them and if you don't live in one of the heavily populated areas you will have no representation. It is part and parcel of our country being a constitutional republic rather than a democracy.
