...depends on which leg they worked on. If the worked on the left one can can drive in about three weeks if you are off pain meds. It will take ya about six weeks on the right leg as ya use it for gas and brake etc whilst driving. Once in awhile ya read a story about some old fart driving thru the front of a store and it wouldn't surprise me to find out he was trying to drive too soon and he got club footed or he was trying to drive with his left foot.
....main thing is, be off the pain meds. The cops and the judges don't care about WHY you was taking em. Oh, one other thing. practice gettin in and out of the vehicle, and dealing with the walker or cane. Falling on the concrete isn't as much fun as it sounds like. You will likely not need the walker for about three weeks. Keep it handy though. Once in awhile ya will wake up feeling like ya just got out of the operating room.
