Ribs likely still has memories etched of sights and scenes from when he spent time on a free vacation to south Vietnam on tax payer dime. Those images these youngsters who are now fighting and killing in order to try to stay free and defend their country will have these images etched into their memory banks for the rest of their lives..
I know plenty of guys who have shared some of their stories and those vivid images come pouring out.
Its just another bad part of having to go to war and fight to kill or be killed. The generation before mine experienced and saw horrible atrocities and things and if ya wuz fortunate enough to be engaged with the enemy in Nam you also will have lifetime memories.
I feel for those youngsters. War is sometimes a necessary evil and yet we have to stand up and fight. My only prayer is that these people of Ukraine not only survive, but kick those Russian butts. Hope that it turns out this way....
