They are high De. But, they are high everywhere because uncle Joe wanted to make sure everyone shared in his build back better program where everything is roses and peachy.

My wife and I will be adding a new Clothes dryer later. Right now I need to purchase a new compound sliding miter saw with dual bevel and laser line. I am making some structural changes to my family room/man cave and will require removing the existing flooring, emptying large book cases completely full, and of course furniture and an exercise stationary bike from Schwinn.

I need to do some jack lifting on a few 2 x 10 floor joists
and raise the one side and then actually re-secure the main frame the joists are hung onto and put supports under those joist brackets so they never slip again..

The floor itself needs to be opened up with a circular saw thru two layers of plywood, each individually, the top being a larger opening than the panel underneath so I do not want to cut through the top and into the bottom sub floor.

After I get "to the bottom of this", pun intended, and make good repairs and long lasting weight support structure for those joists and joist frames, I can put back the sub floor panels I cut out and screw them back down.

All the carpet gets cut up and removed and taken to the curb.

Then, my grandson and son in law come over to help lay down the new Vinyl plank tile flooring.

Next, I remove the sink vanity and commode from the bathroom that is in that great room, and remove vinyl tile from that floor, and lay down cement tile board on the floor and have son in law lkay down some new ceramic/porcelain floor tile of miz micro's liking.

Re-install a new vanity and all plumbing supply lines and drain, and also the perfectly good comfort height commode and that will be done. Re-install the very large book cases in my man cave and then replace the books and
stereo system and television stand and television.

Obviously I have had time to think about all this and miz micro had a captive audience.

Next step is to go look at flooring materials and get that squared away. I have no say. We get what SHE likes if I want to live here happily. That's pretty much par for the course.

The above is why I am buying a new miter saw that slides as well as has dual beveling , a LED sight line, Sliding cut well made machine.

I believe De Walt will meet that need as I ead this morning on their website that their saws are ready to go right out of the box, no calibration required.

Sometime something may get out of adjustment and at that point I can recalibrate the problem but ifit ain't broke or out of calibration, why go through the all the trouble and time when ya don't need to.

I will double check with Dewalt before spending close to $500.00 on the saw I want. It will be a nice addition to my Bosch contractors portable table saw which is really a nice tool.

Lots of work ahead and changes to be made. Mine are repairs. De is making his dream come true which is GREAT and a lifetime memory!

I remember building my house over 44 years ago and planning ahead for the stages of life. I still have my drawings actually.

Congrats to De and miz De as thisis the exciting part of patiently building a new home especiallyin the middle of nowhere, but drop dead gorgeous scenery every day...

Well done guys!

I have a 10% Off (max $200) coupon from Home Depot that expires on March 9th, so my wife and I made kitchen appliance decisions today. The appliances are the fridge/freezer, dishwasher, gas range and microwave. Our first attempt failed. On-line, we found Whirlpool appliances that came with a $500 discount. But when we tried to place the order we found both the refrigerator and dishwasher to be out of stock. I thought the store staff could probably override this given that we were prepared to wait months, so we headed to the store. No dice. If something is out of stock, Home Depot will not let customers go onto a backorder list.

We came home and my wife did new research. We switched to Samsung and my wife found a new set she liked. She placed the order and . . . another fail. The microwave was out of stock. She replaced it with a different Samsung microwave and . . . nope. The issue this time was that Samsung has its own 10% manufacturer discount and we couldn't add our Home Depot discount. I ran into this last year though, when we bought the washer/dryer. The store staff just rang up the purchase, then had us go through the checkout line to take our additional discount.

This means we'll be returning to Home Depot tomorrow, hopefully placing our order and getting the price we want.

Prices are very high. We'll be spending more than $3,300.
