Hi De.
I was napping. I am still regaining strength from that operation but making progress weekly. Miz micro no longer needs to do literally everything for me.
The appliances look great. It's an exciting time for you guys and I am excited and happy for you.
So your flooring weighs a couple tons?
Wow. It almost weighs as much as Stacey.

My projects will mostly be closely supervised by by me with a minimal participation rate. I am using this project as an excuse to get some cash to my grandson to help him with expenses and maybe a little tuition.

Your refridge is same capacity as mine. Mine is a traditional freezer on top and refridge on bottom style and is black as are all our appliances.

They match the over 42 feet of black granite countertop surfaces.

I think it will be a few months yet before I can walk without aid of a cane or walker. But we will see.
I have tried a couple times to go to a store and just slowly walk a little there and it did not last long. Surface under feet just too hard for my hip.

Don't forget my knee on same right side as this hip is bone on bone and already scheduled to be replaced next year so my entire right side for stability is poor at best. I just can't go thru another major joint replacement surgery yet this year and am not looking forward to this next year either.

But
You guys will be doing the neat stuff and preparing to enjoy the house you had built and your work your land

You both have endured and planned well and sacrificed to get to this point. Soon it will time to take a well deserved BOW and throw a party.

I think I will buy a Ridgid brand sliding compound miter saw due to lifetime warranty and saving a couple hundred dollars.

I am going back to my recliner and watching golf tournament. See ya later!

Re: “Well done guys!”
Thank you, sir. And good luck with your projects! I gather that your hip must be improving quickly or you wouldn't even be thinking of taking this on!

It's noon. My wife and I had a busy morning. First, we headed to the new house and met with a hardwood flooring guy. He's going to send us an estimate, but there's little doubt we'll be hiring him. My brother had used him for the floor of his inn and gave him a solid recommendation. That works for me.

He surprised us by saying that WE need to purchase the boards. That's not something he does. So one more task goes onto our plate.

After that, we returned to the Home Depot we were at yesterday. I'm happy to say that the purchases went smoothly. We bought the four appliances, received the manufacturer's discount *and* received the Home Depot 10% discount (sadly, it's a maximum of $200.) The only glitches in the appliance purchases are that (1) the dishwasher is not fingerprint-resistant stainless steel like the other three appliances are, so its stainless steel exterior will have a slightly different appearance, and (2) my wife didn't realize until this morning that the counters are 25 inches deep but the refrigerator is 31 inches deep. So it's going to stick out a bit. On the brighter side, it's a 28 cubic foot fridge. From my perspective, it's huge. I like that.

We bought today because my $200 discount expires on Wednesday. But we pushed the appliance delivery back as far as possible since we don't want any deliveries until the kitchen's tile floor is in and the kitchen is, more or less, done. The appliances should arrive on or near June 2nd.

Lastly, we will be heading into town tomorrow to rent a cargo van from U-haul. We're taking it 60 miles to the Floor & Decor store in Nashua. Then we drive it and 2 tons of ceramic tile to the new house where I'll be unloading it myself. That should be fun.

The good news is that when you get to the point where you're buying appliances and flooring, THE END IS NEAR. Home construction is one of the few cases when a sane person can say that with a smile. Images follow.
