I'm just looking at the headlines. It was shaping up to be a pretty awful year, economically, already. There were fundamental oil shortages which couldn't possibly be escaped and, make no mistake, oil is the lifeblood of the economy; NOT "tech" and bankstering.
And then the Ukraine thing got going.
And THEN TPTB decided to take the extraordinarily stupid step of calling Putin's hand by cutting Russia out of SWIFT: even though the EU lives or dies by Russian oil and natgas and fossil fuels are a global market with no elasticity of supply. (https://www.vedantu.com/commerce/elasticity-of-supply)
I'm going to call it: DEEP DEEP economic shock to the world; WAY WAY beyond the 2008 crisis both in size and intractability. They can print up another 20 trillion and drop interest rates to below zero nominal (they are already way below zero real; aka net inflation): it won't fix anything. A massive intervention from here will just throw gasoline on the bonfire.
