Dear Biden Voters:
Did you vote for this?
Gas prices are exploding but the rise in fuel prices didn’t start last week. They’ve been going up since the moment Joe Biden took office. The legacy media wants us to believe that Russia is our biggest problem when it comes to price spikes, but the data tells us Biden has been the biggest obstacle. All the way back in January of 2021, AAA recorded the biggest jump in the national average price since 2009 (surely it’s purely coincidental that 2009 was the beginning of the previous Democrat administration).
WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 19, 2021) – Since the beginning of the year, the national gas price average has increased 13 cents. Today’s average is $2.38. That is a nickel more than last week. However, still cheaper year-over-year by 17 cents.
The last time the nation saw a substantial January pump price increase was in 2009. That year, the national gas price average jumped 23 cents inside of the first 3 weeks of the year. At that time U.S. gasoline demand and supply were lower and crude oil prices had been increasing, similar to today.
As I write this, the average stands at $4.09, with no end in sight. The Russia/Ukraine conflict has certainly strained our economy, but it is only following the direction that has been trending since Biden’s inauguration.
The oil market is a futures market, and it responds to the whims and concerns of consumers. When consumers feel nervous about the future, the price goes up. We were told Donald Trump was a threat to world stability and we had to get rid of him to secure a safer future. Now here we are, on the brink of a global conflict, if not all-out war…everyone seems to have their own description of what’s happening with Russia right now. Take your pick. The point is that Biden has led us headfirst into the dismal, dystopian landscape so many of you fantasized was happening when Trump was in office.
I know you saw a lot of upsetting things when you looked at Donald Trump, but you know what you didn’t see?
$5+ gas, a war in Russia, empty store shelves, empty car lots, feuding school boards. Is your life bigger or smaller than it was a year ago? Is your future more stable or more uncertain? Is your retirement account larger or smaller?
Forget about Trump. I know it’s hard because he’s living in your head rent-free even though he’s been deplatformed nearly everywhere by this time. It’s easier to blame the guy you don’t like in perpetuity than to criticize the guy you do like in the present. We all get that, we’ve all been there. So don’t think about it like Trump versus Biden. Think about it like “how it started versus how it’s going.”
Look around you. Is any of this what you thought you were voting for?
