Right now, they are only good for local, supermarket, short daily rides. Nothing more. Everything else, trips are gas baby. Full gas. Bleeding edge never interested me. I am not a victim in that sense.

Been looking at a hybrid, rather than a full plugin.

OTOH, Nephew is on his 2nd Chevy Volt, while working, charged there as well as home, a 30 mile commute. Home he put up solar that more than covers the needs of the farm & the Volt.. There were subsidies, helped even paying the leased vehicle...

BIL is onto he Toyota hybrid with all the bells n whistles, added a charger at home, but their running about os at the longest 50 miles to see grandkids...

We are looking at SUV hybrids, mostly to not rely on being on the road searching for charge stations, if/when we hit the road again...

The eFord truck is interesting, but we still have the need to tow the trailer a bit, and for now I'm fine with the F150 Crew Cab, but the miles are getting up there at 172K... 14mpg doesn't hurt with the little travel we are doing lately... Longer runs it goes to all of 16mpg.. Beats the old F250 with the 460ci engine, 7mpg, empty or loaded, maybe 5mpg towing... Smile

I do remember dumping the F250 when hit with gas going over $1/gallon! Panic sale!

Like the Tesla, but want more cargo space...
