Putin is re-taking land that was his 30 years ago. I'm not excusing it, but there's a big difference between that and going after Poland or even Finland.

And speaking of Finland, I imagine that Putin has just motivated a big chunk of the world to ally itself with NATO or with other nuclear powers. Non-superpowers should realize at this point how vulnerable they are without someone powerful to look out for them.

BTW, back in the '90s, I thought it was remarkable that Ukraine could be so stupid as to surrender its nuclear arms - the 3rd largest arsenal in the world. It seems I was right.
