Yep. In a nutshell, it means that WashingtonExaminer is set up with an electronic certificate that a trusted third party examines to verify the authenticity of the site, then lets you communicate. So it could be that the third party (frequently Veritas) was down, or it could be that WashingtonExaminer's certificate needed updating. The problem could also be because WashingtonExaminer was behind on its dues to Veritas (or whoever the Authenticator might be.) Some websites even self-authenticate, but the expertise involved in doing that is beyond what most IT shops care to deal with.

It could be because of a VPN. Those will sometimes make it look like the client is in a suspicious place. Russia or China, for instance. Were you running Opera's VPN?

And it could just be that WashingtonExaminer's IT shop was doing some maintenance and temporarily broke something. It's far less likely but possible that Veritas's IT staff were at fault.

It's working right now for me. Give it another try.
