Chris Hedges, like Greenwald, like quite a few others, is normally classified as a "liberal". Liberal USED to mean a group of people who were generally anti-establishment and, in particular, AGAINST war and warmongering.
I think it's weird -- to the point of surreal -- how the Democratic party has become the goose-stepping, large-corporations-can-never-do-wrong, "Tell me when to bend over, Master!" party.
And, at the same time, the Republican party -- which used to be the party of big business, at least compared to the Dems -- has become...well...in favor of L-I-B-E-R-T-Y, P-E-A-C-E and even E-N-V-I-R-O-N-M-E-N-T.
Again, I think we are mostly witnessing, once again, that Socialism==Govt Worship and government always and everywhere comes down to a self-serving clique of power hungry people who like to get others goose-stepping to their music.
What a mind job.
