agree with ya on electric cars. I am looking at the basic, first concept and proven HYBRID vehicles that simply used a generator and battery to store produced energy as you also bought gasoline and your engine ran off it with an assist.

Remember the Prius from Toyota? Ya could get a Prius 5 and it was a hybrid. My daughter had one. It ran on both gasoline and battery stored energy it got from a generator that kept it charged.. They still make those today and make the most sense of any of them.

They improve your MPG significantly. For example, a mid sized sedan would go from 23 mpg around city to 37 MPG.

So I was thinking that these are actually affordable cars with enhanced fuel economy using a simple system that ya don't need charging stations and the car can run on gasoline as well. The hybrid simply assists the fuel efficiency of the gasoline powered engine by providing some power to the drivetrain...

To me, its the best alternative to excessively high gas prices. Another thing about hybrid cars is that they are more powerful than regular gasoline counterparts. Much more horsepower. Much better fuel economy..

NOT an electric only plug in vehicle..

...whenever energy is converted from one form to another part of it is lost in the conversion. Converting oil / gas / coal to boil water to turn to steam to turn a generator to generate electricity is an energy consuming process. Putting the fuel in the vehicle that is actually going to use it is going to be the most efficient.

...the next thing is my own opinion. Have no data (other than my normal kingly brilliance) to link this to. IMHO it is more efficient to store the fuel in one place and bring the vehicles there than it is to send it out over a fragile and overworked grid. If California ever forces these electric cars on people ya gonna see the grid collapse regularly when everybody gets off work, goes home, plugs in their car, turn on the tv, the computer and starts cooking in their all electric homes.
