Police department fires employee who is a person of interest in homicide case

The Baltimore Police Department has fired its chief of fiscal services, who is a person of interest in an unspecified homicide investigation.

Dana Hayes, who served as the chief of fiscal services and was on the gun offender registry in 2019, was fired Tuesday, according to the department, which plans to investigate how he was hired in the first place.
