That was a pretty good feat you pulled off De.

Hopefully you have that access database stored or saved in multiple places on different storage discs as well as hard drive. This way you will be able to always keep it even if your hard drive gets "munged" at some point.

I back up everything that is data on flash drives AND a backup hard drive. All I would ever have to do is wipe my hard drive on the main computer and copy the entire software back onto it from the back up drive.. It helps one sleep better.... lol!!!!

You likely know these things and maybe have already had more than one copy of your new database on different storage devices but thought a little reminder never hurt anyone..

On my way to the west today.. Driving about 4 hours or so to Evansville and eventually on to St. Louis.

Will catch up with y'all later!

Re: “I just put entered my 500th book, magazine or miscellaneous piece of media.”
I've now entered 1,002 pieces of media into the database. The most common genres at this point are SF (561), Fantasy (139) and Suspense/Horror (47).

I won't continue doing data entry at this rate. It's been full time work - and long hours! But I did want to get enough books into the system to gain confidence in the database's robustness as well as to give me plenty to work with when I continue enhancing the application.

I just bought two more "For Dummies" books on Access: "Access 2007 Forms & Reports FOR DUMMIES" and "Access 2007 All-In-One Desk Reference FOR DUMMIES." I guess that makes me a dummy 'cuz I've quickly become a huge fan of these books! They're a bargain on ABEBOOKS.com. I don't think I've spent more than $5 (including shipping) on any of these references, many of which are like new and sold for $50 or more when they were published about 15 years ago. So far, Access 2007 works just fine even though it's supposed to be obsolete. The only thing that doesn't work is the Help... because it's on-line and Microsoft intentionally shut that down.
