Vitamin D₃

I know that most of you are taking D₃ supplements. You might therefore find this interesting.

A friend of mine (the friend who lost 90% of his vision) just told me that his wife had a blood test and was told to immediately discontinue her D₃ supplements. Her D₃ level was 150 ng/mL.

The optimal level for blood is 30-60 ng/mL. Above 100 is considered toxic (hypervitaminosis D). Above 150 is where something called Vitamin D Intoxication sets in. The wife, obviously, is right at that level and therefore needs to discontinue the supplement.

The wife has been taking 5,000 IUs of D₃ daily. I've read that that level is safe, and that doses up to 10,000 per day will not result in toxicity. I, myself, take 7,000 IUs per day.

This warrants additional consideration. Maybe for you guys too.
