My grand daughter the softball catcher is playing in her last high school games today.
She has made a swing correction a bout ten days ago and stopped dipping her shoulder so she has been on a power tear hitting the ball. She parked three balls over the centerfield wall inone game and had at least one each of her last 2. She is now only three behind the league leader and plays a double header today..
It's senior night for the girls so we will be present for that. Hopefully she'll pop a couple more out of the park and end her season on top of the home run list..
Nex fall she becomes the starting catcher for edarville University playing D2 on an excellent athletic scholarship she got from them to play there. The coach wanted her badly and she was being recruited by D 1 schools so he ponied up some really good athletic scholarship money to get her off that list...
She owns the fastest release time for all catchers all time in Ohio for catching and releasing the ball on its way to second base for attempted steals..
She does not need to stand to throw either. She can peg the bag on a low line snap throw squatting which saves time on the release.
NOBODY as stolen on her all year either in Elite travel Ball tournament games or the High School games.
She does not look like a typical catcher. She is a very nice looking young lady with a slender build and solid muscular legs.
So she is pretty special to grandma amd grandpa and she likes to come over and visit with us..
We will be driving to Cedarville a lot next year in the fall when the ball season and games are in full swing to watch her. Its an hour and 20 minutes one way to get there so its not a big deal. She will be living in a new Dorm and has nice room mate who hs similar interests and kind personality.
