Re: “You will spend the remainder of your life cataloging those things! Laughing
It might seem that way, but I've done over three thousand in a tad over a month. If there are fifteen thousand in total, four more months ought to do it. Probably not the NEXT four months since there are other things that need doing, but maybe over the course of the coming winter.

Then there's the job of figuring out what I want in my "library." That won't be everything. Some of the books are in crappy condition. Some are duplicates. Some are magazines - and I can't see putting magazines - howsoever old - on bookshelves. Some just aren't interesting. Of the current 3,060 catalogued books, 1,310 are Science Fiction. Hundreds of those are magazines. Dozens more are duplicates, a number that should increase dramatically as I get further into this project. I may even find at some point that most of my books are duplicated. If so, I'll pick out the best or most collectible and figure out what to do with the others.

I'll sort through 'em and figure it out. It could take years. But it's also where the database will really prove itself useful.

Finally, there's reading. Now THAT could be for the rest of my life. I hope I never lose my interest in that.
T he no no you know where it

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

De

your accumulation of Books and magazines make mine look lile less than an anthill..

You will spend the remainder of your life cataloging those things! Laughing

I thiknk the difference is that I only buy things that I have acute interest in and on very limited areas of interest. I also am very particular about authors and credentials.
For example, I would not walk acrosee the road from my house to the other driveway to look at or read anything Brian Kilmeade takes credit for regarding Civial War events. He is simply rehashing what has already been written long before he came along by smarter and better authors than him.. To me, it comes just shy of plagiarism.

Of course I have my Theological library as well as American History with a collection on Civil War as a separate group. WW2 is another thing I keen interest in .

So my mind is likely not as open as yours but its good to know there are other bookworms around!! Thumbs Up

Best wishes to you on this monumental task you have undertaken!
