There are RADON tests that can be done in every house and is required in home sales here in my neck of the woods..
I discovered my father's house had radon gas in the basement and had to have professional mitigation of the problem which took one day. Now the pipes under the concrete floor capture the gas and ventilate it outside into the atmosphere.
Where I live there is no radon gas in the ground.. So its sporadic.. Just depends on where one is located and if there are radon gas deposits in that area..
It was a great idea to plan ahead for that when the house was being built !! Great foresight..
But NO SIR, it is not everywhere and in fact is sporadic and in large regions nonexistent..
