Sometimes the "Fat lady sings" metaphor is useful: When something is like an opera. So, I think you could look at a fireworks display on July 4 and say, after a few rockets have gone off "It ain't over until...."
But in a war, although there is always a desperation factor, I don't think the "Fat Lady" analogy is very useful.
I think chess is a much better analogy. And in chess, the game is *over* as soon as there is no way for one party to escape eventual checkmate. In chess, only incompetent players continue past that point.
If you insist on the "Fat Lady" analogy, may I suggest the FAT LADY ALREADY SANG, with the 2500 Nazi aficionados getting their asses handed to them beyond any question. These WERE, as I understand, the "super-soldiers of Ukraine. Most of the rest of the Ukraine "armed forces" are pikers: more like prepubescent kids with BB guns and wannabe pretensions.
But, as frosting on the cake, you need to take into account the astronomical corruption and general incompetence of the Ukrainian government and Ukrainian society as a whole. The Ukrainians have had 30 years to even begin to clean up their room. UKRAINE IS THE SADDEST EXCUSE FOR REAL COUNTRY I'VE EVER SEEN, AND I **HAVE** SPENT A MONTH THERE AND I **HAVE** VISITED A LOT OF 3RD WORLD COUNTRIES WHICH OPERATED BETTER.
Russia has NOT just captured and jailed the vast majority of Ukraines toughest fighters. It has also ALREADY overcome US+EU (NATO) "superweapon": USD sanctions. The ruble is higher now than it was before the war. Russia is netting MORE money now from oil sales than it was before the this fiasco started. They have SUCCESSFULLY NEGATED the US/EU controlled SWIFT system and Petrodollar sanctions: China and India alone pretty much take up the whole of their capacity.
And many other countries are already making arrangements to buy all the oil, fertilizer, wheat, etc. Russia can produce WITH RUBLES or alternative arrangements. Meanwhile prices of oil, food, and most other things in the US and EU are *EXPLODING*. And, by the end of the year it is looking almost certain that BILLIONS of people around the world (but not in Russia, China, nor probably India) are going to begin starving AS A DIRECT SIDE EFFECT OF THE US's BRAINDEAD AND ALREADY FAILED "SANCTIONS" AND USD WEAPONIZATION.
Russia could alleviate this upcoming tragedy but the US won't allow Russia to sell oil, fertilizer, and food to other countries under free market terms which run counter to the sanctions.
In other words, Russia can probably sit this stupid and unnecessary opera out indefinitely. Year. The US and EU and countries which are allied with the US and EU generally *cannot*. Indeed, the US is wobbling on the edge of what could well turn into complete internal and external havoc; collapse of the US "Empire" only requires loss of respect for US invincibility and rule of law. But the US is acting like a buffoon and is openly spitting on its own principles and laws.
Backing the "US" at this junction looks a lot to me like backing the Banksters, the DemonRats, the whole WOKE thing, the US Oligarchs, the WEF, the EU Brussels leadership, etc. You are following BIDEN's wishes now. Your position benefits BIDEN, et al. Perhaps they are also your wishes, although I'd like to see you put up the fact based, rational defense of them that has more basis than the Democrat's Trump-Russia hoax.
There are a couple of other things I don't understand about your position, though:
(1) Did you serve in infantry or some other high risk position in a war when you were younger? You know, where you took a bullet or almost took a bullet? If so, I respect your courage & example of actions lining up with words. If not, why are you so enthusiastic about war with ANY other country, much less a country which didn't attack you? I look forward to your answer. Again, if you served in a capacity where you really risked death, my hat is off to you.
(2) Since you BELIEVE that the US media and the US government LIE THROUGH THEIR TEETH on all manner of topics, including but not limited to Trump collusion with Russia, why do you believe ANYTHING the US mainstream media and the US govenment has to say about Ukraine, Russia, NATO, the results of the war to date, and the prospects for your Fat Lady singing something better than what she has sung already?????
Again, this PROXY WAR is damaging the US and the EU far more than it appears to be damaging Russia+China. And the real price of the US not DECISIVELY, unequivocally *WINNING* this PROXY WAR with Russia (and the US decisively winning is already practically impossible at this juncture) is the US LOSES. Got that? The US hasn't really won a single war since WW2.
And you favor the effete, corrupt, transvestite, WOKE, obese, bankrupt, internally-divided US fighting a war with a *nuclear* super-power (approximately as capable of blacktopping us as we are of blacktopping them) over a piece of dung like the country of Ukraine?
Can you rationally defend that do or die position?
