TV superhero Lynda Carter has been a real-life hero to many this week while showing her support for the LGBTQ+ community in honor of Pride Month.
In response to those who refused to acknowledge Wonder Woman's influence in LGBTQ+ circles, the beloved "Wonder Woman" star firmly stated that the golden lasso-wielding goddess is a queer and transgender icon. She would know, after all.
Lynda Carter (@RealLyndaCarter) ~ I didn't write Wonder Woman, but if you want to argue that she is somehow not a queer or trans icon, then you're not paying attention.
Every time someone comes up to me and says that WW helped them while they were closeted, it reminds me how special the role is.

Good grief ... where to start?!
1. Lynda Carter is the definitive person who would know that a fictional comic book superhero character "is a queer and transgender icon" because she played the role of Wonder Woman in a cheesy TV series back in the late 70s?!
2. Wonder Woman ... again, a fictional comic book superhero character (i.e., NOT real ... a make-believe, imaginary persona with super-human powers concocted out of thin air) ... is nigh on deified as an icon of the F&F social movement?!
3. Wonder Woman ... again, a fictional comic book superhero character (i.e., NOT real ... a make-believe, imaginary persona with super-human powers concocted out of thin air) ... helped members of the F&F community while they were closeted?! Obstensibly, this means that the notion of Wonder Woman flying around in her transparent airplane, bouncing bullets off her stylish bracelets, forcing evil misogynists to face "reality" with her Lasso of Truth, and generally kicking ass against all comers no matter the circumstances provided these neurotics, who were cowering in their closets, to FEEL love and support in their personal lives, right?!
4. The F&F community, who puts forward Wonder Woman ... again, a fictional comic book superhero character (i.e., NOT real ... a make-believe, imaginary persona with super-human powers concocted out of thin air) ... as their revered icon and role model, wants everyone outside of their community to take them seriously, as if they are rational adults?!
The LGBTQ-et.-etc.-etc. community isn't made up of victims ... they're all simply nuckin' futs.
