Where you 'plant' solar panels in fields, you can not grow food plants nor can you plant trees to suck some of that carbon out of the air.
Solar panels are not '24-7' reliable. They do not make electricity at night and they do not produce much electricity on cloudy days, nor do they make much electricity when snow falls on them.
Put solar panels on school and warehouse roofs? Take some of the sting out of peak demand electricity needs. fine.
Try to power the American power grid with them? That it NUTS.
