A conservative legal group representing several Loudoun County parents has filed suit against the school system, alleging the “egregious moral corruption” of students and “violations of parental rights.”
The suit charges that the school system has adopted woke, left-wing policies that have put children in danger and sidelined parents in violation of the state constitution.
“The extreme social gender experiments being forced onto small children are nothing short of government-directed child abuse and child sexual exploitation,” said Stephen Miller, co-founder of America First Legal.
“These are mafia tactics from Loudoun schools, being used to sexualize and indoctrinate children as young as five, all in the name of forcing radical gender ideology onto captive minors. If this was happening outside the context of a school, the adults engineering and sanctioning this madness would be under criminal investigation,” added Miller, who heads the legal outfit with fellow former Trump aide Mark Meadows.
The suit was filed by their new Center for Legal Equality.
The suit follows a string of eye-popping reports out of the school system on its promotion of critical race theory, gender erasing, and parental bullying. Loudoun is an outer Washington, D.C., suburb that has recently turned more Democratic but still has strong pockets of conservatives.
The school system, considered one of the best in the state, made headlines when it pushed quickly into liberal policies and became part of the 2021 gubernatorial debate that resulted in both a parent backlash and victory for Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin after foe Terry McAuliffe suggested parents should stay out of schools.
It propelled parents' rights into the national political debate.
Miller told Secrets this morning, “This is the moment when America’s patriotic parents say: ‘Enough. It ends here. We draw the line.’ We are proudly in court, on their behalf, to vindicate the most sacred rights of parents and families against astonishing corruption, abuse, and misconduct. And we are just getting started.”
The county schools had no comment.
The suit cites several examples of policies and agenda items that many parents have found offensive, including letting transgender boys into girls’ bathrooms, explicit readings, and pushing teachers to promote gender transitioning.
The group is asking for an end to the policies some parents find offensive, a “special master” to monitor the system, and for the system to pay for private school education for students pulled out of public school until the changes are made.
