How about Eric Garcetti, the current mayor of Los Angeles?
He appears to have all the right stuff. He was a Lieutenant in the Navy and served eight years in the Reserves. He's still married to his first wife. They have one adopted daughter and have fostered seven children during their married life. He met his wife at Oxford, where they were both Rhodes Scholars. He speaks fluent Spanish. As for his ancestral background, he's Spanish (Mexican) and Italian on his father's side, and Russian Jewish on his mother's. And while his parents were never practicing Jews despite them celebrating holidays like Passover and Chanukah, he did attend Jewish summer camps as a young boy, but became more involved in his religion while in college and today, considers himself a practicing Jew.
It would seem that he would cover a lot of bases if he ever decided to run for national office.
