Well, De,
If you find plenty of them . . . and they are real pretty inside . . . Can I get you to send me a few?

Thanks, Zim.

Re: “My first thought was 'Geode'.
Does it feel light for its volume?”
No, it feels pretty solid. Also, I'm reading that geodes are made of very hard rock. They can be found in streams where other rocks have been worn flat while the geodes keep their characteristic ball shape. My sample rock isn't hard. I'm able to flake the pyrite off of with my fingernails.

But geode hunting sounds fun. I think I'll give it a go. New Hampshire has some areas where they're often found. And from Youtube, I'm seeing that they're sometimes in streams where the person filming says "There's one, and there's one, and there's one, and there's one, and..." The point is, they're REALLY common in certain areas.
