In 1967 my parents moved on up to the east side..

My dad got a dream job at General Electric in Evendale.. We got a two story, brick colonial in one of the nices suburbsan cities north of cincinnati for 21,000. 4 bedrooms, Family room, living room, formal dining room , 3 baths, large kitchen, full basement, garage. Sharonville, Ohio.

That place was big and all us kids had our own bedroom..

Couldn't touch that place today as a new home at under double the price today.

Its amazing what things cost in this day and age we live in... I am glad I am on the latter end of the lifespan ladder...

Re: “Back in 1969, Mom and Dad bought their house for $13,900.”
Putting that in perspective, back then $13,900 was about 18 months of an average person's salary. Today, the average person makes less than $60,000.

So, it's not just that prices have skyrocketed. It's also that salaries have not kept up.
