Enquiring minds want to know!”It's one of the most remarkable cases of "small world syndrome" you could imagine. My wife and I went yard saleing in Virginia about ten years back. Through pure luck, we found ourselves in a little town about 50 miles from our place, at a sale being run by [unknown woman]'s daughter-in-law... Well, EX daughter-in-law. Marge... Marjorie... something like that. My memory's not what it used to be. She'd divorced [unknown woman]'s son Paul and headed South. We talked quite a bit - for at least half an hour. SOMEHOW, can you believe it, the subject of mothers-in-law came up. Repeatedly. She didn't care for hers one bit. Imagine my surprise when I figured out who she was referring to! But there aren't that many alcoholic, chubby old three-time-losers in a relatively small town like Mahopac so it was pretty obvious.

As for Robert... hubby #3... he lives in a condo on the Hudson river, just half a mile off the highway I drove so many times. I bumped into him at a gas station near his house. SOMEHOW, the subject of divorces came up. Repeatedly. He divorced [unknown woman] around 1980 over her infidelity and drinking. She put him through hell, then got to keep the kids and the house. Gotta love New York. Robert's a really friendly guy. Must be in his mid-80s by now... but he'd remember me. I should probably give him a call just to catch up and see how he's doing.

And, of course, Paul and I became internet friends. He was liberal but I'm not much of one for discussing politics so we got along just fine. It's coming up on two years since he died.

LOL. Or maybe I'm just pulling your chain and none of this really happened. [unknown woman] used to post a whole lot more than she does now. When she was drinking, she'd say things she probably shouldn't have. And the internet is forever, after all...
