Re: “Comments?”
Before commenting, we have to know what's happened to the price of the stock. After all, a company can have a 100% ROI... but if that's accompanied by a stock drop of 100% in the first year, then it's not such a great deal.

In the case of COP, the stock price story is even more interesting than the dividend increases.

From 2003 to 2020, COP scarcely moved. Okay, 30 percent, but that's a 30 percent gain in SEVENTEEN YEARS. I wouldn't be pleased.

But since its bottom in March, 2020, holy smokes. Up almost 400 percent? Am I reading that right?? Nice going, Zim! I'm happy for you.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

I've owned some Conoco Phillips (COP) since some
2003. It is in a 'direct stock purchase plan' and
they insisted that I re-invest the dividends.

Up till this year they were regular as a clock in
paying out in March, June, September, and December.

So far this year they have paid out a dividend in
January, March, April, June, and now July.

The March and June dividends were some 10% bigger than
last years . . . January was about half, April was about
three-quarters of last years, and this last one is about
50% bigger than the June dividend.

In a way it is sweet, and in another it looks crazy.

Comments?

Zim.
