I often thank GOD that HE has NOT endowed me with absolute power ... because, if left to my own devices, I would be swift and brutal ... and become that which I hate.
I was talking with my older brother the other day about current events and popped off about how I would like to kick the literal snot out of the treasonous weasels who run the Democrat Party. Being wiser, he immediately said that, while he certainly understands how I feel, he has to constantly remind himself that he is just as big a sinner as anyone else. We have to continue to stand up and call out the wrongs that are said and done, but GOD is the only one who is righteous. HE will judge. When he gets frustrated with the seeming futility of watching powerful people getting away with wrongful behavior, he likes to read Psalms 73.
And then, of course, there is always Romans 12:19-21 to consider ...
"My friends, do not try to punish others when they wrong you, but wait for God to punish them with his anger. It is written: “I will punish those who do wrong; I will repay them,” says the Lord. But you should do this: 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink. Doing this will be like pouring burning coals on his head.' Do not let evil defeat you, but defeat evil by doing good."
