‘we have every right to be skeptical’ of the DOJ/FBI

...it ain't a right, it is a responsibility.

As we told you yesterday, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced that he did sign off on the search warrant for former President Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago, shamed those who have been making anti-FBI comments and then left without taking questions (did he learn that from Biden?).

Garland’s remarks included this rebuke of anybody suggesting the DOJ or FBI might be acting out of political bias:

Third, let me address recent unfounded attacks on the professionalism of the FBI and Justice Department agents and prosecutors. I will not stand by silently when their integrity is unfairly attacked.

The men and women of the FBI and the Justice Department are dedicated, patriotic public servants.

Every day, they protect the American people from violent crime, terrorism, and other threats to their safety, while safeguarding our civil rights. They do so at great personal sacrifice and risk to themselves.

The Wall Street Journal’s Kimberley Strassel, before linking to a WSJ editorial board piece, gave AG Garland a few reasons as to why people might be skeptical:

Kimberley Strassel (@KimStrassel) ~ It's a bit much to hear Garland lecture that it's beyond the pale to criticize FBI/DOJ, given the Steele dossier, the Page warrants, and the Mueller whitewash of all of it ... The country has every right to be skeptical. http://wsj.com/articles/merrick-garlands-warrant-gambit-donald-trump-fbi-mar-a-lago-raid-department-of-justice-11660254365?st=00it8t89apthdw5 via @WSJ

Strassel also wrote on this topic in her own column:

Eddie Zipperer (@EddieZipperer) ~ "The last time we got this level of reassurance about federal law enforcement’s professionalism was at the height of the Russia-collusion hoax." @KimStrassel

And yet these people are shocked that people are skeptical of DOJ/FBI claims.

Adam Johnson (@adamdjohnson) ~ “Don’t criticize the state OR ELSE.” Very 1984 of him.

Dianne M Hayenga (@HayengaDianne) ~ Former Atty General Bill Barr: “I concluded that the handling of the Flynn matter by the FBI had been an abuse of power that no responsible AG could let stand.” (pages 323-329 of Mr. Barr’s book)

Trust in the media is incredibly low for the same reasons there’s widespread skepticism of the Justice Department and FBI.

Yeah ... because they are all pathetic, obvious liars.
