That's definitely not the case. Here's one of the best current maps of the known universe. As you can see, there are clumps and even threads of densely packed galaxies. The cause of the clumping is not known but it may be due to dark energy. Conversely, much of the known universe is less dense.

I was reading something a little while ago . . . Which said the universe was 'homogenous' -- as in one would find similar numbers of galaxies etc. whatever direction one looked in.

Which, to me, means I could find a 13 billion year old 'object' in one direction, and another 13 billion year old object looking 180 degrees from the first object.

One might as well say 'God Created the Universe'. For all that makes sense.
