God was smiling only on you yesterday and today! We had rain. In fact, there was a chance of rain this morning at 0930. Now, an hour later, the sun has poked through and I need to water the garden since the prediction was wrong. I look forward to the days when I don't - it takes an hour and a half.

It's often cloudy or partly cloudy here in the Green Mountains, but that only ups the humidity. Light rain is common and is often unpredictable. The sky could be cloudless but, half an hour later, it starts sprinkling. Now THAT's amazing. We get a lot of rainbows.

While my favorite daytime sky is 50% clouds, the humidity makes it warmer than I like even at 80°. (Remember, no air conditioning. And I live on the second floor.) I'm a cold weather fan.

As for the stars, yes, they're excellent. I have no difficulty seeing the Milky Way, the planets, meteorites and satellites. I have some high power binoculars (military spotting binoculars) and can see the rings of Saturn and the moons of Jupiter. But the sky isn't perfect. I live near Vermont, and the border town has enough light that the stars to my west are hard to make out. I haven't yet spent the night at the new house, but I'm looking forward to it for that reason. I expect that its night sky is jet black. And when it's cloudy, I might not be able to see my hand in front of my face. Won't that be great??

But I won't know until I have cause to be there after dark. So far, that hasn't happened - except once when it was pouring rain and I was in no mood to stargaze.

BTW, there's a full solar eclipse coming in a few years - April, 2024. Totality will barely miss my new house... I'll need to drive an hour or so North, to Burlington. Looks like you'll need to do the same, perhaps to Cleveland or a bit past Dayton. I'm already looking forward to seeing that. It'll be a first. And it had better be CLOUDLESS.
