My uncle moved from Bridgeport,Conn to Pembroke,NH in 1960. They bought a brand new house for around $10,000. It was out in the middle of nowhere. But close to town. His daughter and her husband build a house up there in 1964. I think it cost them $13,000 to build. Big house, high quality materials.
My father and uncle had bought the cottage on the Suncook River in 1954 for $800. When I was a kid I loved going up there in the summer. I think it’s a great place to live.
How did you choose to retire to New Hampshire as opposed to other states? It was a good choice. Free State Project?

I *knew* if I waited long enough, I'd eventually arrive and find siding going up. Today was my lucky day.

It looks pretty near black in the photo, but it's actually dark blue. I hope that'll be more apparent when the sun is on it, but since this is the northern side of the house, the siding is shaded.

The photo below has both the blue siding and something that's black (scroll down), so you can see the difference. There IS a difference. Honest.

On a different subject, the first picture also does a nice job of showing why I like 50% cloudy skies. They're purdy... We get a lot of them up here.
