Thursday night at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, President Biden condemned the “MAGA Republicans” who are a “threat to democracy”:
Too much of what’s happening in our country today is not normal.
Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.
Now, I want to be very clear — (applause) — very clear up front: Not every Republican, not even the majority of Republicans, are MAGA Republicans. Not every Republican embraces their extreme ideology.
I know because I’ve been able to work with these mainstream Republicans.
But there is no question that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven, and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans, and that is a threat to this country.
Take those words and combine them with the optics of the speech:
Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) ~ That was the most demagogic, outrageous, and divisive speech I have ever seen from an American president. Joe Biden essentially declared all those who oppose him and his agenda enemies of the republic. Truly shameful.
The next day, not even 24 hours later, the backpedaling began. Also there was another Biden comment that Jesse Kelly spotted which spoke volumes about how the Biden White House knows the speech is being viewed:

Actually, it is the latter part of this clip that is even more instructive. Brandon says "the problem is the failure to condemn violence used for political purposes, failure to condemn attempts to manipulate electoral outcomes, and failure to acknowledge when elections were won or lost." Hmmm ... sorry, Brandon ... THIS condemns you and your fellow Democrats far more than Trump and Republicans, doofus.
1. There was very little actual violence at the January 6th temper tantrum. The worst violence was the highly questionable killing of Ashli Babbitt by a Capitol police officer. HOWEVER, you, your vice president, and your fellow Democrats aided, abetted, and applauded the deaths and wanton destruction of property during the BLM/Antifa riots in the Summer of 2020, which were most definitely committed for political reasons. Scorecard: YOU are the violent Fascists, here.
2. For the 2020 election, Democrats changed voting rules at the last second, aided obvious mishandling of ballots, and didn't bat an eye when Democrat precincts tallied more votes than they had registered voters. HOWEVER, the Chairman of the Democrat January 6th Dog & Pony show, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson, objected to the outcome of the 2004 election, Hillary Clinton claimed (and still claims) that the 2016 election of Donald Trump was illegitimate, and Stacey Abrams claimed (and still claims) that she won the 2018 GA gubernatorial election that she undeniably lost. Scorecard: YOU are the Fascists who are manipulating elections and not acknowledging the results when you lose.
Biden obviously doesn’t want people to think they heard what they did indeed heard.
