ULM has a decent program for a small school, but I don't think it was any kind of real test for the Longhorns. Just a warmup for a highly probable ass-whuppin', next week.

But, that's the problem with playin' smaller schools who typically cannot compete with your program ... you either win big and everyone sez, "Well, so what ... that's what you were supposed to do!" ... or you lose and everyone goes ...

The Longhorns showed the Horns were LONG, and sharp..
Thye manhandled their opponent and gored them and then finally stomped on them. Texas looks like it has begun to return to form after an absence. Congrats to the Horns!

The Dawgies did what Dawgies do. They BIT, chewed, and spit out their opponent with ease and then stomped on them after the game was long decided. Lopsided victory shows how good this years edition of Bulldoggies really is.

Alabama showed no mercy eitehr to a vastly underrated opponent in tuning up for the season. Another year of great rivalry in the SEC including the Aggies of A&M.

Jimbo has got them playing well.....

Arkansas looked good in its opener against the Bearcats who are rebuilding this season after losing 19 players to the NFL from last year.

The new QB and various new members of the defense and Linemen needed to play a team that has giant linemen on both sides of the ball to get ready..
Congrats to the Razorbacks!

Michigan loooked crisp on offense and defense albeit their opponent wasn't exactly overwhelming.. Maybe next year they could move up to getting an opponent from the little sisters of the poor to use as a doormat to wipe their feet on.. Ho-hum...

The Buckeyes struggled early but the defense came alive in second half to stuff Notre Dame's offense and the Bucks offense used the ground game to control the clock and tempo of the game.. Their top receiver and Heisman hopeful Njigba-Smith was out all game and that did not help the offense.. But it was good to see they could move the chains with the ground game and score and win
U-G-L-Y and preserve the win ver a top 5 team..

Anybody else's school play a top 5 team on the opener?
Nope....

I really did like Arkansas' look. I think the coach has that team turned around and maybe competitive in that league again.. I used to watch them play Texas annually at Thanksgiving when I was younger.

A fun opening day for the college Futzball world imo..
