Re: “Prepping for the coming storms is a worthwhile expenditure of your time but making sure you tribe up with like minded armed individuals will be your best bet to survive. ”
I didn't want to tackle two topics in one post... hence, the creation of this post.

The article is a rehash of what longtime readers of this board already know - that the world is massively divided and heading for a crisis, and that the left is actively attacking an unresponsive right. I call the crisis TEOTWAWKI, btw.

While the author seems certain as to the form it will take, civil war, I am not so sure. I think civil war is a difficult thing to achieve when members of the two sides cannot be readily distinguished from one another. SOME can... city dwellers, blacks and country bumpkins, for instance, though the distinction will be flawed... but most can't. We look alike and are intermixed. Who, then, does either side attack?

I actually think conservatives have the upper hand in a civil war. They, at least, can attack, bomb or lay siege to cities and have reasonable certainty that they're hitting their enemy. Of course, they'd also be striking their own families. Conservative soldiers may not have the heart for that. How can liberals respond to attacks on the cities where most of them live? By bombing farms and forests? That won't work at all.

Therein lies the problem in a 21st century American civil war.

The article doesn't delve into what we should be doing. The excerpt above - which comes from the final paragraph - is about all it has to say. It's GOOD advice ... but it may not be practical because finding "like minded armed individuals" isn't so easy. Even here in the country, liberalism is pervasive. Those who are active about "tribing up" may find their doors being knocked on (or knocked in) by FBI agents. To my way of thinking, while it's VERY important to tribe up with like minded individuals, it's also important to keep quiet about any preparations being made. It doesn't do much good to have stocked food and supplies if the coming crisis results in one's stockpiles being stolen. I don't know how to resolve this. It may be impossible to tribe up without also exposing one's prepping efforts. Therein lies the problem.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

Re: “But I have tried to avoid thinking about the reality of what is likely to happen over the next five to ten years, as this Crisis turns from rhetoric and debate to violence and death. Keyboard warriors will yield to real warriors.”
Good article. The excerpt above touches upon an issue I've sometimes raised - namely, that while some understand things are quickly worsening and could get very, very ugly . . . few are doing much on a personal level to prepare for it. I've never been sure whether this is due to:

• Pollyanna syndrome where people think things will just work out if they're ignored
• A lack of conviction as to the cause and, therefore, what to do about it
• An inability to connect the dots and predict where they lead
• A philosophy of helplessness, that "there's nothing I can do so why try?"
• Treating it as a game. "We talk about starvation, mass casualties and killing one another, but it's just talk. Right?"
• Fear-induced paralysis
• Societal pressure to not be a DOOM AND GLOOMER or a PREPPER freak
• A childish belief that "I might fall but my mother [or somebody else] will always be there to pick me back up"
• A mentality that "I've heard dire predictions before and they never come to pass" (which is demonstrably wrong, btw)

There are other possibilities and the problem may be a blend of things. I do find it interesting that, with hard times ahead now being widely acknowledged, not many have lifted a finger to get ready for them. Indeed, it might be the libtards who have done the most. They're the ones installing the solar panels and buying the electric cars, right??

BTW, I don't think I've done enough either. Not nearly enough. I don't want to suggest that I have. But I *have* done enough to realize how difficult, depressing, time consuming, expensive and wasteful preparing can be. Worst of all, preparations are quite possibly futile (bullet #4).

It's an interesting situation.
