A reporter asked a Las Vegas sheriff Thursday whether former President Donald Trump is to blame for a Democrat allegedly stabbing an investigative reporter to death last Friday.
Democratic Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles was arrested Wednesday in connection with the stabbing death of Las Vegas Review-Journal investigative reporter Jeff German.
A reporter questioned Thursday whether Telles’ alleged involvement had anything to do with Trump. The reporter began to say it’s likely not the time to talk politics before the sheriff cut her off.
“So why are we talking politics here?”
The reporter then asked whether the sheriff if he thinks “former President Trump’s normalization of violence against journalists” contributed to the murder.
Ah ... please provide specific examples of when and how Donald Trump "normalized violence against journalists, dearie. And the fact that you irrationally HATE Donald Trump so much that the very thought of him reduces you to a quivering pool of flop sweat does not count - that's your personal problem. Also, these incidents of violence you supposedly reference need to be actual acts of violence that were actively promoted and instigated by Donald Trump, himself. Okay ... go.
Hmmm ... that's what I thought.

The sheriff said that he doesn’t believe Trump had any influence over the killing.
Authorities served a search warrant Wednesday at Telles’ home. German reportedly had been working on a story about Telles the week he was killed, the Review-Journal reported. The outlet recently filed public records requests for messages and emails between Telles and other county officials. German had spent the previous few months reporting on Telles’ oversight of the public administrator’s office. Telles lost his reelection bid in June after German’s reporting was published, with German unearthing allegations that Telles created a hostile work environment that included bullying and favoritism.
