Thanks for the heads up. I wasn't thinking we would become "best buds" or anything. I believe he said he is from the UK, so that gave me a basis to lay out some alternative data points (mostly with links, so there was little/nothing personal) and just make a logical case.
All he has said so far is that he admits he doesn't know everything about the US -- and doesn't want to.
It may be a while before I write anything further. I'd rather leave the door to civil discourse open.
Oh, he wrote he thinks those who corrupt an election should be jailed. I think we can all agree on that! Personally, I think Bush-Gore election dispute was not handled adequately. How many people were investigated/tried based on the numerous pieces of Florida election malfeasance at that time? The Supremos ruled without due process, and I think it was all crickets after that? That was a mistake. It laid the groundwork for 2020 being similarly dismissed.
