We have a multiwoman rape trial in the UK, which involves the prosecution of a footballer and his friends. Nearly everyone assumed that the men will be found guilty. But...
At least one of the accusations has been reduced to rubble. The whole thing was filmed and the woman's agreement to be filmed was also recorded. Apparently the accuser had entirely forgotten this. She denied it in the courtroom repeatedly, as well as the things that occurred, only to be confronted with the recording on the stand. Oops. And the recording showed it was completely consensual.
This is a criminal trial, so the financial incentive wasn't there. Isn't it scary that a person would lie so wantonly?
