Novorossiysk, where they have gone, was a port probably recovered for the Byzantine Empire by Anglo-Saxon escapees from the Normans in the eleventh century AD.

I was wondering what the Russians would do if they lost Sevastapol. Novorossiysk seems to be the back-up plan.
