Exclusive: Oath Keeper charged in Jan. 6 attack texted with Andrew Giuliani about election
Kellye SoRelle, a member of the far-right Oath Keepers group who was charged in connection with the Jan. 6 attack, exchanged messages in November 2020 with former Trump White House aide Andrew Giuliani about election issues.
SoRelle also tried to text a White House number on Dec. 20, but the message went to a switchboard line and could not be delivered. The messages add to a growing web of links between people close to former President Donald Trump and his advisers and the fringe groups charged in connection with Jan. 6.
SoRelle and Giuliani confirmed to NBC News that they were in touch about the election in November 2020 after the existence of their texts was revealed in a new book by former Republican Rep. Denver Riggleman.
