Thanks. There is at least one plausible strategy through such a novel surge, which would minimize hospitalizations and deaths:

(1) Effective antivirals used early and often, getting R0 below 1 with minimal hospitalization.
(2) Children must not be vaccinated! They are a natural way to get to lasting, real, herd immunity faster, with minimal hospitalization and death risk.
(3) Africa will likely be relatively spared by such a breakthrough virus, as most of the population have shunned the vaccine. Yes, they will get the breakthrough virus, but they should have more natural immunity to begin with if they aren't already at herd immunity.

Unfortunately, Our Masters keep doubling down on the failed vaccines and there is no indication they are prepared to shift to promoting HCQ and Ivermectin. Nor do they seem to have had much luck coming up with new, sterilizing antivirals. Now there is little motivation to get prepared. Later there will be no time.

In the last month, at my factory, we've had something like six cases of reinfection of the vaccinated -- three just last week. I believe all of them were vaccinated, and at least some of them said they were "fully boosted". I only know of one person, who said they were never vaccinated, who has gotten Covid in the last six months. Everyone I know who has gotten though Omicron without an infection has never been vaccinated. I think, at this point, frequent small exposures to the virus - with antivirals available early and often - is wise for the unvaccinated. For the vaccinated I don't know that will help.

BTW, Geert distinguishes those who got vaccinated later (say this spring) from the majority who were early adopters. He feels getting the vaccine AFTER first overcoming a natural infection leaves one with better immunity than getting the infection AFTER the vax. I don't know if this is true (the vaccine damages preexisting natural immunity), but it seems plausible.

Thanks for the explanation. I'd forgotten about Marek's disease. In a world with hundreds of trillions of circulating SARS-CoV-2 viruses, a repeat performance is certain. It's depressing.
