The wife and I will subsist on a chives and mint diet, both of which grow very easily up here! Oranges? Tangerines? What are those? As for your olives, have you actually tried to eat them? I've heard that they take a ridiculous amount of processing before they approach 'edible.'

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

I was feeling pretty down about my lack of preparedness for what is obviously coming at us like a freight train.

To pick myself up I started thinking of SOME (there are quite a few more) of the things I planted 10+ years ago which gave significant bounty this year...most of them without a lick of work other than watering and picking:

Apples,

Oranges

Pears

Pluots

plums

Grapes

Pomegranates

Lemons

Jerusalem artichoke

Fish

Raspberries

Blackberries

Gooseberries

Almonds

Tomatoes

Kumquats

Apricots

Peaches

Persimmons

Olives

Asian pears

Cherries

Mulberries

Walnuts

Russian olives

Tangerines

Strawberries

Sweet Potato

I also have a lot of rather exotic fruitbearing trees and plants I can't name off the top of head. Also, there are a few which didn't survive the years of neglect. The only vegetables I got from the garden this year were volunteers, as I didn't plant anything. Also, the list keeps growing in my head even as I am typing this, but I am mostly getting into herbs and some things which grew but weren't harvested.

All in all a VERY fruitful year! And I feel MUCH better now. And, yes, I know fish aren't fruits.

What would (might I) do differently next year? Hmmm. Let me think about that.
