Re: “How many different types of Covid do humans get? What strains of Covid are still around? How do ya figure out what type you have, or had? How do you determine if you have or had Covid, or just have or had the flu? How do you determine what type of antibodies you have? Antibodies from the flu? from Covid? from a Vaccine? from getting a Monoclonal antibodies infusion?”
I don't think there are good answers to most of your questions. SARS-CoV viruses exist by the hundreds of trillions. The number of variants amongst them is anybody's guess.

My test kit says right on it that it cannot distinguish between SARS-CoV (the original SARS, from 2003) and SARS-CoV-2, so it sure isn't going to distinguish between the many variants of SARS-CoV-2. The mere fact that it has such a disclaimer suggests that the original virus is still around, so I guess the older variants of SARS-CoV-2 are probably still around too. Fortunately, since the first SARS-CoV-2 was deadlier, it's no longer very common.

Hospitals can but rarely do test patients to see if they've got influenza. I think it is a matter of, "if the treatment is going to be the same, why bother testing?" Influenza's symptoms are significantly different from Covid's, so the two aren't apt to be confused for one another. The flu is more likely to cause vomiting, high fever, diarrhea and dehydration. SARS-CoV-2 is a type of common cold, not a type of flu. If it kills you, it'll probably be because your lungs or heart took damage.

Someone told me that Covid no longer causes a loss of the sense of smell. Is that true? If so, it's a shame since that was one of the earliest and clearest distinctions between Covid-19 and other diseases. I can tell you that, seven days into my bout, Covid hasn't affected how much I smell!!
