Leaving the Eloi to frolic, on the surface, in the perchlorates and other nastiness?

I've considered what it would be like to live in a cave forever. I am clear enough it is not for me. But SOME weird people seem to get along, just fine, with little direct sunlight and cold temperatures for, at least, six months a year! For them, the caves might not be all that different from a NH winter.

But, now that I think about it, weren't caves the preferred habitat for Wells' dominant human descendants, the MORLOCKS? Maybe that's what Musk has in mind - his own world of NON-PANSY MEAT-EATERS - to carry on the American tradition.
