yes sir. It has been 3 weeks. I am regaining strength gradually and am able to walk about a quarter mile before tiring. My heart area is really SORE , not just the crack line... I guess when your heart is actually cut on you will feel that healing process also. De would know . Its different than the cracked sternum healing. This is ff to the left side whichis where the heart is.. So its a weird feeling. I find myself only wearing soft cotton flannel shirts as I am unable to and not allowed to put on any pullover knit shirts that I have lots of.. No hands over the head is still in force... I am not as tired as I was when I first came home so I know I am gaining stamina. I have lost five pounds and am happy about that. I would like to lose another 20 and then I would be in my athletic shape as a young man. I still spend a lot of time sitting in my recliner but do get up and walk around the house and put my shoes on and go walk behid our house multiple laps daily. Every day gets a little better... I hate nights. Right now I am confined to the recliner and I am not sleeping particularly well there. I prefer my own bed but don't know if I can really sleep there yet because of flatness. Cannot sleep on my side either because it hurts my heart too much... Otherwise I am getting back gradually and have a little more energy each passing week. I need to get rid of this anesthesia.. I was put under twice for surgery in the hospital. The first time they were going to attempt to stent me. I was prepped and put under and was told later they tried but could not stent those arteries.. So two days later open heart was performed... That's a lot of anesthesia for an older fart like me.. So I need to get rid of it. It's good to be getting more alert daily though... I just finished watching TOP GUN Maverick which arrived from Amazon yesterday.. Its a great movie.... Really well done.. I enjoyed it.. Catch you later! micro... |
