My doc says it is newer and has fewer side effects. He took me off of Lipitor a year or two ago... essentially saying that it was a good drug in its time but that time is past.

You're very welcome - if I did something to help. I was mostly trying to give you some things to discuss with your doctor. But if Lipitor was the problem then you deserve all the credit since you figured it out yourself. Don't count your chickens before they hatch, though. See if getting off of it helps with your memory problems and general wooziness.

BTW, your doc put you on a statin because you had a bunch of clogged arteries. You'll have to decide whether you want to go through THAT again. If not, then you need to either be taking statins or drastically change your diet. (If you go vegan, I assure you that you won't have a cholesterol problem. You'll probably be nice and thin, too.)

I have discovered the source of my confusion and forgetfulness.

It was not the anesthesia.. It is a pill called LIPITOR and the side effects say it all. I have never been on a statin in my life and this one is KNOWN for causing memory issues, forgetfulness, confusion, etc....

It is now in the toilet.. I see a assistant of the surgeon this morning who is going to get the scoop on this pill and why I am never taking it again......

I have lived 7 decades without taking this and I suspect I can live however many years more the Lord may give me here on earth without it as well... I am done having my brain messed with as I cannot afford to have that in my work...

I normally do not have issues at all with recovering from surgeries and shedding the anesthesia and I have had 16 surgeries prior to this one, a few of them MAJOR , but not as serious as this one.. I have never had issues like this before... Thanks for pointing it out which got me to exploring what is going on... Now I know...
